Kalinka Shipbrokers Ltd, a new shipbroking company based in St Petersburg, aims to start business operations in the new year.
Evgeniy Dolgikh, the founder of Kalinka, told Bunkerspot today that he started setting up the company in August and he recently recruited four trainees in preparation for the business launch.
Dolgikh has been active in the shipbroking business for more than a decade, most recently for CMS Shipping. He has also worked for Poul Christensen Shipping.
Kalinka aims to specialise in handling small tankers - and bunkering tankers in particular.
The company's core activities will include:
- Sale & Purchase of second hand vessels (all types and sizes); - Newbuilding contracting;
- Sale for demolition;
- Ship valuations;
- Arrangement of towages.
'Kalinka' (which is Russian for snowball tree) is the title of a much-loved Russian folk song, penned in 1860 by Ivan Larionov.
