In our previous companies we tried to position ourselves as international players and act globally. In our experience, it did not really work. Shipbroking remains an industry, which is based on relationships. Very few people can be open with the foreign broker and ready to do business with him. That is why we decided that KALINKA will honestly name itself a Russian brokerage and will declare its mission in bridging the FSU market with the rest of the world. That is what in fact we have been doing for years. We do not have specialization on the types or sizes.
We have a number of close clients in different segments (mostly for small tankers, ferries, tugs, small dry cargo, Handy size bulkers) for whom we have been acting on a sole basis on S&P.
With our co-brokers we pursue the «old style ethics». We always keep the established channel and support our friends co-brokers. The market sees only our direct/exclusive offers and enquiries. We do never recirculate others’ offers.
